Your summer holiday at our 4 star hotel in Tyrol

Mountain huts, Alpine inns, and other refreshment places

In the Wilder Kaiser region, there are lots of mountain huts and Alpine inns inviting you to enjoy a Tyrolean “Brettljause” snack.

For some, the huts are a welcome destination at the end of a hike, where one can enjoy the traditional “Gemütlichkeit” cosiness and the reward of a delicious meal. For others they are simply lovely places with fascinating natural scenery.

Some of the most beautiful huts are the rustic Neualm by the mid-station in Scheffau, the Rübezahl-Alm in Ellmau, the Wochenbrunner Alm and of course also the Silleralm and Stöcklalm.

“You must take the opportunity of tasting a good schnapps at the Silleralm with the herdswoman Lotte.”

“Bergdoktor” (Mountain Doctor series)

The most successful German series to date, “Der Bergdoktor” has been filmed in the Wilder Kaiser region since 2007. You can visit the most beautiful filming locations used in the series yourself. Visit the village square, the Gasthof Wilder Kaiser and the surgery on an Ellmau film walk, or take a look at the Familie Gruber’s mountain farm Söll film tour. Meet the main actor Hans Sigl and his colleagues personally at one of the Bergdoktor fan events.

The bathing lakes in the Wilder Kaiser region are certainly worth visiting. Söll too has a refreshing dip to offer in the Ahornsee, not far at all from the centre. The Kaiserbad in Ellmau is always a hit with its organic natural swimming pool and its family and slide paradise.
